New toys

June 30 - the end of the financial year. Tax time and frenzied finances for some, but for mad shoppers, this time of the year = SALES! Just yesterday I got my hands on a Peters of Kensington signature pink shopping bag containing some goodies I had ordered from their latest sale.

The first item out of the bag are a set of two Bodum Pavina double walled thermo glasses:

Mr LBV made a yummy vanilla latte for each of us using these fabulous glasses - it's like the coffee is suspended in mid-air.  Ooooh. As they are double walled, this means that the beverage stays hotter/cooler for longer, and will not burn/freeze your hand as you hold it. At $12 a pop, they're not the cheapest glasses but you have to agree, they make any drink look damn, freakin' awesome. I want to replace all my glasses with these. Yes, want.

The second item out of the bag is a shiny Scanpan 24cm frypan:

This is my first Scanpan and now that I have one, I do see what the fuss is all about. It fits nicely inside my oven - will do well for all the mini roasts I could pull off with this baby! It has a thick, heavy base which is essential for even heat distribution. What to cook for its christening?? Decisions, decisions!

The last item is a nothing too special, just one of those splatter guards that catch all the oil splatter when frying things. This one is made of silicone cost a pretty penny (well, relative to the world of splatter guards anyway). It should last a very long time though, that was my justification! A small price for a cleaner stove top.

  6. Vanessa, yes you DO need these glasses :) I had a visitor last week who told me her coffee tasted so good in these glasses. Tea would work equally as well I'm sure.
